중국 가족 구조의 변화와 이의 노인의 재정적 부양에 대한 영향: 전통적 가족 가치의 변화 가능성 = Changing Chinese Familial Structure and its Effects on Family`s Financial Support for the Elderly: Future Implications for Family Value in China

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 중국의 가족간의 사적 부양에 영향을 주는 요인들을 분석하고 나아가 이 요인들이 경제적 불평등에 기여할 가능성을 탐색하는 데 있다. 연구에 쓰인 자료는 2006년도판 옥스퍼드 대학교 노령화 연구소에서 발간한 글로벌 에이징 서베이로 60세 이상 인원을 포함해 총 1,000명을 모집하였다. 연구의 결과를 보면, 중국에서 아직까지 자녀의 부모 부양 의식은 강한 편이나 부양을 필요로 하는 부모의 재정적 상황이나 부모의 필요 상황을 고려하게 되면 부양을 하게 되는 동기는 크게 두 가지가 섞여 있었다. 이기적 모델과 이타적 모델이 그 것인데 이러한 경향은 중국이 산업화와 인구 구조의 변화를 맞이하여 부모의 재정적 부양에 대한 생각과 행동이 전통적 유교주의에서 점차 달라지는 것을 의미한다고 할 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The goal of this research is to analyze factors affecting family financial support for older parents in China, and to explain their effects to economic inequality between the elderly through comparing family financial support. The data used for this research is 2006 Global Ageing Survey by the Oxford Institute of Ageing, University of Oxford, including 1,0 00 persons aged 60 and over. As the result of the analysis, traditional notion of supporting responsibility for parents is found to be still strong in China. When the care demands of parents and economic conditions of the households is considered, however, different motivational orientations of the support are found. The result of this research shows mixed nature of China`s support system for old parents which are selfish and altruistic model. This transition implies what is considered traditional Confucius family value is now facing with changes in the attitudes and practice triggered by rapid industrialization and demographic change.
