보존원칙에 비추어 본 목조문화재 수리의 문제점에 관한 연구 = A study on the problems of repair through conservation theory

국문 초록 (Abstract)

1962년 문화재 보호법이 제정된 후 1984년 대대적인 변화가 있었다. 그 후 많은 문화재 수리공사가 진행되었지만 우리의 실정에 맞지 않는 문화재 보존원칙으로 인해 올바른 문화재수리가 이루어 지기에는 문제가 있다. 또한 문화재 보존원칙이 일반적인 내용을 다루고 있기 때문에 실제의 문화재수리 공사에서 적용하기에는 한계가 있었다. 국제적으로 목조건축에 대한 관심이 증가하면서 최근 들어 우리의 문화재 보존원칙도 국제헌장을 참고로 하여 우리의 실정에 맞게 고쳐지고 있다.

본 논문에서는 국제 보존원칙과 국내 보존원칙에 대한 흐름을 파악하고 현재 어떠한 방향으로 나아가고 있는가를 고찰하였다. 이를 바탕으로 실제 문화재 수리현장에 적용할 수 있는 내용을 선정하였다. 조사대상 수리현황은 기록이 비교적 잘 남아있는 2000년 이후에 발간된 문화재 수리보고서를 바탕으로 조사하였다. 현재 행하여 지는 문화재수리의 현상을 조사하고 원칙과 현상의 비교를 하였다. 비교를 통한 문화재 수리의 문제점을 찾아보았다.

2장은 문화재의 보존론 및 원칙에 관한 내용이다. 국제 보존론 및 원칙의 흐름을 조사하고 현재의 경향을 찾아보았다. 보수이론은 양식주의와 낭만주의로 나눌 수 있는데 현재의 보수이론은 낭만주의 이론을 기반으로 하고 있다. 국내 보존론 및 원칙은 문화재보호법과 문화재수리 등에 관한 법률, 문화재표준수리시방서를 바탕으로 관련내용을 정리하였다.

3장은 목조건조물 문화재의 파손현상과 수리방법에 대하여 조사하였다. 23동의 대상건물을 선정하여 수리의 요인을 목록화 하여 분석하였다. 수리요인은 부재 자체의 노후화와 하중에 의한 변형, 주변환경의 영향, 복합적 작용으로 인한 파손이 일어났다. 조사되어진 수리요인에 대한 수리방법은 합성수지를 이용한 수리, 구조내력 향상을 위한 보강, 신재교체의 방법으로 수리하였다.

4장은 문화재 보존원칙과 수리현황의 비교를 통한 문제점을 찾아보았다. 문제점은 시공상의 문제점과 기록․문서화 과정의 문제점으로 나누어 분석하였으며 문제점에 대한 근본적 원인을 찾아보았다. 시공상의 문제점은 부재에 대한 문화재적 가치인식이 크게 좌우하였으며 기록․문서화의 문제점은 수리보고서의 작성법이 문제점으로 나타났다. 이에 대한 보완사항으로 재료선정, 원인파악, 교체부재, 기술선정으로 나누어 제시하였다.

Cultural Properties Protection Law enacted in 1962, then 1984 was a major shift.
