Digital Transformation is expected to be positive for improving productivity and economicgrowth by promoting the emergence of new products and services and improving workefficiency. In addition, DX will promote the expansion of digital trade and expand opportunities forexporting goods and services through digital. With the spread of the digital economy, internationaltrade is entering a transition period, and B2C trade between countries is increasing. As the digitaleconomy era, which contributes to reducing corporate costs such as customer search andanalysis, product production, and marketing, is in full swing due to the development of digitaltechnology, the paradigm shift toward digital trade in product trade between countries isaccelerating. In fact, B2C (Business to Consumer) transactions between countries are expanding, and many organizations at home and abroad are predicting continued growth.
Our government is revitalizing the data economy through DX projects such as the Digital NewDeal in order to proactively respond to the digital economy era and leap forward as a globaldata hub. However, according to the Digital Trade Restrictiveness Index (DTRI), Korea was foundto have the 15th most restrictive digital trade policy out of 64 countries surveyed, and the datasector was found to be 8th most restrictive out of 64 countries. In particular, the digital tradepolicy openness is the 4th lowest among OECD countries, and the digital trade environment, including data movement, is understood to be closed. Therefore, in this situation, it is necessaryto find countermeasures to revitalize digital trade.
