This study examines the current status of immersive media entrepreneurship education and identifies future directions based on this analysis. Despite the advancements in immersive media technology and its diverse applications across various industries, there is a lack of systematic research and educational guidance in university entrepreneurship education. Therefore, this research aims to identify the need for immersive media entrepreneurship education and to develop educational programs that enhance educational effectiveness.
In-depth interviews were conducted with 10 university professors to analyze their perceptions and needs regarding immersive media entrepreneurship. The results revealed that while professors hold a positive outlook on immersive media entrepreneurship, they believe that a practical, hands-on curriculum is essential. This means that comprehensive skills should be developed through the curriculum, starting from idea development to business modeling, market analysis, and funding acquisition. They also recognized that technical, financial, and educational support related to immersive media is necessary. This implies that active external support and the establishment of industry-academic collaboration systems are crucial.
This study presents the need for immersive media entrepreneurship education and provides foundational data for curriculum development by analyzing professors' perceptions in depth. This suggests that it can serve as a problem-solving approach in educational settings based on practical curriculum development and collaboration with industry experts. However, it has limitations in that it presents the priorities of the components of immersive media entrepreneurship education through qualitative research methods. Therefore, future research should utilize methodologies such as AHP analysis or Delphi analysis to derive quantitative priorities.
