다차원적 양극 구조에 따른 가족분화수준의 재분류 = Revised Concept of the Family Differentiation Level as a Multi-dimensional Bi-polar Structure

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 가족분화의 개념을 다차원적 양극 구조로 가정하여 3수준으로 나눈 후 각 수준의 하위개념들을 탐색하였다. 본 연구의 기본 가정은 높은 수준의 가족분화에서는 높은 친밀감과 동시에 높은 연결성을 보일 것이고, 중간 수준의 가족분화에서는 높은 친밀성과 동시에 융합을 보이거나 혹은 높은 분리성과 동시에 이탈을 보일 것이고, 낮은 수준의 가족분화에서는 이탈과 동시에 밀착이 혼재되어 있을 것이라는 것이다. 연구 결과는 연구 가설을 지지하였고, 또한 중간수준의 가족분화에서 높은 친밀성과 동시에 융합을 보이거나 혹은 높은 분리성과 동시에 이탈을 보임으로써 남순현과 한성열(1999) 연구의 제한점을 보안하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 가족분화의 개념을 다차원의 양극 구조로 설명할 때 보다 더 명료화할 수 있음을 시사한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The present study examined the sub-concepts of each level of family differentiation under the condition of a multiple dimensional bi-polar structure. As the family differentiation is separated by two independent dimensions involving separateness and connectedness, it was hypothesized that high level of family differentiation would show both connectedness and separateness, medium level would show both connectedness and fusion or separateness and cue-off, and low level would show both fusion and cut-off These hypotheses were supported, and the limitation in the authors previous study (Nam & Han, 1999) was also complemented through this study. Therefore, this study suggests that family differentiation can be clearly explained better by the two independent bi-polar dimensions than by the uni-dimension.
