관세국경 여행자 검색 장비의 현황과 THz 검색 장비의 발전 방향 = Current Status of People Screening System at Customs Borders and Development Direction of THz Imaging System

국문 초록 (Abstract)

경제적 이익을 목적으로 밀수 범죄가 지속해서 증가하고 있으며 간소화된 통관 절차를 악용하여 밀반입을 하는 여행자도 늘어나고 있는 상황이다. 여행자가 은닉한 불법 은닉물을 검색하기 위해서 금속 탐지기와 촉수 검사를 통한 검색이 활용되고 있으며 최근 밀리미터파 검색 장비가 설치되어 운영되고 있다. 그러나, 지능화된 밀반입에 대응하기 위해서는 금속뿐만 아니라 비금속 물체의 검색도 가능해야 하고 비접촉 방식으로 여행자의 불편도 줄여야 하며 이동 지연도 최소화할 수 있는 검색 기술의 개발이 요구되고 있다.
본 연구는 관세국경에서 여행자를 검색하는 검색 제도에 대해 알아보고, 여행자를 검색하는데 활용되고 있는 금속 탐지기, 밀리미터파 검색 장비의 검색 방법 및 특징에 대해 살펴보았다. 또한, 차세대 검색 기술을 위해 연구되고 있는 테라헤르츠파(THz파) 검색 장비 기술 현황에 대해 분석 하였고, 관세현장에 사용되기 위해 필요한 THz 검색 장비 분야의 발전 방향에 대해 살펴보았다.

Smuggling crimes for the purpose of economic gain continue to increase, and the number of travelers taking advantage of simplified customs clearance procedures to smuggle goods is also increasing. Searches using metal detectors and contact inspections are used to search for hidden items hidden by travelers, and millimeter wave screening system has recently been installed and operated. However, in order to respond to intelligent smuggling, it must be possible to search not only metal but also non-metal objects, reduce inconvenience to travelers through a non-contact method, and develop search technology that can minimize movement delays.
This study looked into the screening system for searching travelers at customs borders and looked at the search methods and characteristics of metal detectors and millimeter wave screening system used to search travelers. In addition, the current status of THz wave imaging system for next-generation screening system was analyzed, and the development direction of THz imaging system required for use in customs sites was examined.
