This study investigates how advanced learners of Korean,including Korean for academic purposes learners, process lexical bundles in texts elaborated and textually enhanced. The experimental group (n = 10) who read an elaborated text and the control group (n = 10) who read an unmodified text were administered a reading comprehension test and a productive and receptive vocabulary test. The experimental group was further administered a post-test questionnaire and an interview while the control group, an interview only. Both groups used the same meaning inferring method for the unknown lexical bundles. The results show that (1) the elaborated group did not explicitly notice modification done to the text, but, in the process of repeated meaning explanations, was positively affected in understanding the Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language, 40.49-76.
