급별 학교교육활동 양상에 기초한 유,초,중등 학교의 교육과정 통합 방식의 경향성 고찰 = The Trend of Integrating Method in Kindergarten, Elementary, and Secondary Schooling

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 학교에서 하는 교육활동(주로 수업)이 급별로 서로 상이하다는 경험적 논증을 근거로 유·초·중등학교의 교육활동 및 교육과정 통합 방식을 구분해 본 것이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 먼저 급별 학교교육의 양상을 구별하고 있는 논의를 고찰하고, 그 결과를 기초로 각 학교 교육활동 및 교육과정 통합 방식에 대한 주류적 특성을 경향성으로 논의하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다; 첫째, 급별 학교교육의 양상을 제시한 Whitehead, Egan, Debesse, Dewey의 논의를 중심으로 유치원 교육활동은 ``학생중심``, 초등학교의 교육활동은 ``교사중심``, 중등학교의 교육활동은 ``교과중심``의 경향성이 있음을 설명하였다. 둘째, 각 학교교육활동의 경향성과 탈학문, 간학문, 다학문적 방식을 서로 연계했을 때, 유·초·중등학교에서 주로 접근하는 교육과정 통합의 방식을 구별할 수 있었다. 학생 및 학생의 생활 중심의 유치원과 초등학교는 주로 탈학문적 접근을, 중·고등 교육은 교과를 기반으로 하는 간학문과 다학문적 접근을 하는 경향이었다. 또 유치원과 초등학교가 주로 탈학문적 통합 방식 취한다는 점에서 둘은 서로 유사하지만, 교육과정을 통합한 주제를 전개하는 방식에 있어 유치원은 발산적인 방식으로, 초등은 수렴적인 방식을 취한다는 차이가 있었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to examine the trend of Integrating Method in Kindergarten, Elementary school, and Secondary School. For this, some studies which are Whitehead(1929), Egan(1979), Debesse(1992), and Dewey(1938) was reviewed. The mode of early childhood`s education was inquired student-centered pedagogical system. The mode of elementary education was inquired teacher-centered pedagogical system. The mode of secondary school education was inquired subjects matter-centered pedagogical system. Integrating methods also had several approaches as scholars. But these were generally divided by multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary approaches, based on subject, social needs, and students` interests. They are different in integrating aim, integrating objects, integrating methods, and definition of integration. Early childhood`s education and elementary school education were mainly applied to transdisciplinary approaches. based on students` interests. Secondary and higher education were mainly applied to multidisciplinary or interdisciplinary approaches, based on subjects.
