This study tries to analyze some distinctive ways of expression in Heidegger's thinking of being. As known well, Heidegger's thinking is focused on the question of the meaning of being: What is being? However, in the midst of questioning about the meaning of being, the traditional subjective metaphysics took human beings as the subject of being-question, and reduced 'being' to the object of question. Heidegger uses a variety of expressive ways in order to recover the meaning of being that had been forgotten or distorted by the traditional metaphysics. In fact, being, with any use of metaphysical language, is impossible to be explained and explicated as the existential being. Thus, Heidegger tries to articulate strange words or new words that had not been used in the existing metaphysics, adds the original meanings to the hitherto used words of metaphysics by way of etymological analysis, and create newly transformed words. The typical words are 'es gibt(it give)', italicized 'und(and)', and 'Bindestrich(hyphen).' First, 'es gibt' is used to sublate the dualistic use of subject-object and to reveal clearly the ontological difference of being and being person. Second, 'und' is used to emphasize that '~and' indicates the same origin (Gleichursprunglichkeit) and the co-belonged co-relation of the both words as in 'being and time', 'being and language', and 'being and thinking.' Finally, Bindestrich(hyphen) is to express intensively through complex words something that cannot be explained with daily used words. All of these expressive ways has resulted from Heidegger's original way of thinking trying to elucidate the meaning of being.
