난중일기 씨름의 의미 재해석 = Reinterpreting the Meaning of Ssireum in Nanjungilgi

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 난중일기 씨름의 의미를 재해석하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 자료는 한국고전번역원의 데이 터베이스를 이용하여 ‘角力(각력)’ 기록을 수집하였다. 수집한 난중일기의 씨름기록들은 전공분야 전문 가들이 내용을 검토하고, 분류한 후 최종분석 하였다. 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 1594년 갑오일기, 1595년 을미일기에는 씨름기록이 각각 한차례, 1596년 병신일기에는 두 차례의 씨름 기록이 나타났 으며, 씨름은 각력(角力)으로 기록되었다. 둘째, 씨름에 참여한 대상은 군사와 군사 중에서 힘센 사람, 그 리고 장수가 즐겼다. 셋째, 이순신 장군은 늦은 밤까지 군사들에게 씨름 하게 하였으며, 병사들에게는 내 기 씨름을 시켰고, 힘센 군사 중 우승한 성복에게는 상으로 쌀말을 주었다. 단옷날 장수들에게 씨름하게 하였는데 그 이유는 전쟁으로 수고하는 장병들을 위로해 주려는 이순신 장군의 뜻깊은 배려에서였다. 본 연구를 통해 씨름의 명칭과 씨름에 담긴 뜻깊은 의미를 재해석할 수 있었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to reinterpreting the meaning of Ssireum in Nanjungilgi. The data was collected using the database of the Korean Classical Translation Center to collect records of ‘角力’. The collected Ssireum records of Nanjungilgi were analyzed after reviewing and classifying the contents in various ways. The conclusion is as follows. First, the records of Ssireum appeared once in Gaboilgi in 1594 and Eulmiilgi in 1595, and two records of Ssireum appeared in Byeongsinilgi in 1596, and Ssireum was recored as Gakryeok(角力). Second, those who participated in Ssireum were enjoyed by the strong among the soldiers and the officers. Third, Admiral Yi Sunsin made his soldiers wrestle until late at night, gave his soldiers betting wrestling, and gave rice as a prize to Seongbok, who won among the strong soldiers. On the day of Dano, the officers were asked to wrestle because of Admiral Yi Sunsin’s meaningful consideration to comfort the soldier who were struggling with the war. Through this study, it was possible to reinterpreting the name of Ssireum and the meaning contained in Ssireum.
