The present study is to examine the sequences of environment concepts among these two curricula by an analysis of environment concepts in the present science and biology curricula of middle school and high school.
In addition to these sequences, other aim of this study is to develop an environmental education curriculum for high school level.
In the environmental education curriculum proposed in this study, 5 Unite and 26 Items of study are established : Unit 1 : Natural environment of the earth and the biosphere, Unit 2 : Balance of nature, Unit 3 : Human activities and environmental change, Unit 4 : Destruction and pollution of environment, Unit 5 : Environmental conservation and the future of mankind.
The units are based upon the concepts such as understanding of environment, perception of environmental problems and endeavor toward solving then problems.
