This paper aims to reveal the overall characteristics and significance of the ‘All-Joseon Youth Leaders Conference’ (July 23-29, 1923), planned by Saekdonghoe and co-hosted by Saekdonghoe and Eorini. In order to overcome the limitations of data shortage, this study approached the competition as a media event that gathered actions that occurred in a number of spaces related to the competition, such as articles written by Saekdonghoe members published in newspapers and magazines at the time, the publication of the commemorative issue of Eorini, and reviews written by competition participants.
This competition is significant in that it announced the direction of the Saekdonghoe and strengthening its position, discovered the possibility of expanding children’s literature in Eorini and confirmed the importance of writers, and became a catalyst for activating the youth movement.
