Fowl typhoid due to Salmonella Gallinarum has been reported to be the most endemic bacterial disease in domestic fowls since early 1990. According to the present results, Pulsed-Field Gel Electrophoresis(PFGE) and XbaI were considered as the efficient analysis method and Rare Cutting Restriction Endonuclease(RCRE) enzyme for the molecular analysis of domestic S. Gallinarum isolates and standard Salmonella serotype strains, depending on the index of discrimination according to Simpson s index(D) of diversity(D=0.926). Therefore, this study found that PFGE and molecular analysis method could be able to successfully discriminate the molecular epidemiological characteristics of between a wild pathogenic S. Gallinarum and SG-9R live vaccine strain.
