사회과 정치사회화 개념의 비교가능성 확보 방법 = The Methods of Comparable Political Socialization Concept Formation in Social Studies

The aims of social studies and political socialization comparative research are best served when the general theories are constructed and applied to the widest possible variety of spatial-historical contexts. The absence of generalized conceptual systems about political socialization in the contemporary comparative social studies has led to the theoretical shortcomings.
A major factor of theory building in political socialization phenomena is establishing cross-cases comparability to political socialization concept. In this respects, this article is to be a trial of the comparable concept formation methods that is important the successful theory building through comparative analysis in social studies.
The construction of comparable concepts can be possible through equivalent indicators because concepts are formed by indicators and include indicators. According to above, criteria for establishing the equivalence in cross-cases analysis revolve around the construction of homogeneous indicator structures. If indicators for particular systems are inter-correlated with each other in the same way in each system, the structures of the indicators can be inferred to be equivalent. Equivalent concepts in comparative social studies is established through this procedure. This is an equivalent conceptualization method as the best way for establishing of comparability of political socialization.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

사회과에서 정치사회화 개념은 사회과의 본질 개념 중 하나이다. 사회과와 정치사회화는 정치체계에 알맞은 구성원의 속성인 민주시민성의 함양과 직접 관련되어 있기 때문이다. 이것은 정치사회화 개념이 사회과 비교연구에서 사회과의 핵심 내용을 반영하는 유용한 분석도구로서의 구실을 할 수 있다는 것을 의미한다.
그러나 정치사회화 개념이 비교연구에서 측정도구로 사용되기 위해서는 상이한 비교 사례나 체계의 상황․맥락성으로 인한 개념의 모호성과 편향성을 극복하고, 비교가능성 확보를 위한 조정 과정을 거쳐 개념척도로서 타당성과 신뢰성을 갖추어야 한다. 따라서 정칙사회화 개념의 비교가능성 확보 방법에 관한 논의가 필요하며, 이것은 보다 구체적이며 실질적인 등가개념화 절차로 정리할 수 있다.
즉, 프레이(Frey)의 확증방식의 논리와 셰보르스키(Przeworski)와 튜니(Teune)의 상관관계 추적방식을 중심으로 등가개념화 절차를 제시하면, 먼저, 이론적 차원에서 연역적으로 개념 정의를 보편지표라고 추론할 수 있는 항목들로 내린 후, 보편지표 중에서 동일지표를 추적하여 사례나 체계 고유지표와의 상관관계를 조사하고, 최종적으로 보편-유의미 고유지표를 도출하여 비교가능성을 확보한 개념을 구축하는 과정이 된다.
결국, 사회과 비교연구에서 사용할 수 있는 정치사회화 개념은 정치사회화 개념이 지닌 본질적 속성을 여러 가지 등가성 추적 방법으로 규명해 냄으로써 비교가능성을 확보한 측정 및 서술도구로 재조정하여 활용하는 것이 중요할 것이다.
