The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of personal characteristics of elderly college students on depression and life satisfaction. The subjects were 230 elderly men and women aged 65 or older who were
enrolled in elderly university of Daejon City. The results of this study are summarized as follows. There were significant difference in depression according to personal characteristics such as family members, spouse, family relationship, economic status, and health status, but there were no significant differences according to sex, education level. There were significant differences in life satisfaction among the elderly college participants according to their
personal characteristics, such as family members, family relations, economic status, and health status, but there were no significant differences according to gender, education level, spouse. Finally, the implications and limitations of the present study as well as the future direction of this area were discussed.
