Museums are the cultural place charging social role concerning a collection, research, conservation, education, and exhibition. In this place, the external activities are possible through exquisite collections, professional studies, lectures, and seminars. However, the general public mostly communicates with the exhibitions.
The exhibitions require creative presentation regarding needs of visitors because museums confront plenty of points of contact with visitors.
Museums are offering many texts at the exhibition to give sufficient information to visitors, and thus visitors must read numerous texts to have an understanding of the exhibition. Seeing these exhibitions are difficult 'learning' activities and the visitors feel museum fatigue since it needs considerable amount of walking.
Fatigue caused by physical and psychological activities -viewing, appreciation, psychological surfeit, and feeling tedium- is an inevitable factor in visiting museum. These sense of fatigue deteriorates the concentration of the viewing and in result obstructs the communication.
Focusing on the Fatigue Research of the Visitors at Museums, the National Museum of korea and Seodaemun Museum of Natural History. Following this research paper is prepared based on information gathered from on-the-spot-survey with understanding the cause of fatigue, the action recommendation will assist alleviating fatigue.
The subjects to be discussed for the suggestion of utilization of the imaging media for the purpose of interactiveness in museum exhibition are; program development of interactive exhibition media as well as its application plan; application plan for the digital contents, edutainment, interactive experience and ubiquitous program using interactive media; support plan for the utilization of interactive media.
Developing interpreted works must not be considered as the one field: it should be created with being based on the help among professionalists such as exhibition planners, educational officers and display designers.
