Environmental changes of society made women in the traditional role which toddler nursery is weaken than past years. And this Change made needs of child care facilities for day-care. In addition, the recent discussions and policy are having free child care due to the increased needs of child care facilities. Social change evoked quality child care services increases the level of desire for more.
Child-care teachers spend a lot of time together during the day, with most infants became infants and emotional activities, in the interest of the physical and emotional development of infants and toddlers by ones that determine the quality of childcare services as the core service delivery.
Burnout will decrease quality of childcare services, as a result, catastrophic consequences. This research is a child-care teacher's work environment and emotional labor’s affect on burnout by using multiple regression analysis method.
Results are as follow :
First, Child-care teacher's emotional labor observed more than average. They have experienced emotional labor.
Second, Their Burn-out was observed more than average, exhaustion was more than average others were not, Child-care teacher have experienced burn-out, too.
Third, Result of hierarchical regression analysis showed teacher’s marriage, role-onflict, work-load, work-surface and work-inner sight were significant on exhaustion. Effects of Significant variables for cynicism were marriage, role-conflict, natural work, work-inner sight, work-surface. Reduced personal accomplishment had income, work-load were significant and tree of emotional labor’s factors were significant, but natural-work had negative effect.
Implications from results were as follows:
First, Number of teachers in a kindergarten need to increase. this intervention will be reduce teacher’s work-load. And teacher’s stress-management-program between teachers and teachers set up, too.
Second, have to keep on our eyes on emotional work of child care teacher. We did not have attention of it before but, in this study had observed it. A cause of burn-out is emotional work, exhaustion was observed, to prevent exhaustion researcher propose sabbatical vacation.
Finally, limitations of study is study use convenience sampling. Results are not going to generalize.
