崔仁勳의 『廣場』 硏究 : 巡禮의 길을 통한 유토피아 志向 = (A) Study on 'Open Square' by Choi, In Hoon : Heading for Utopia by the Passage of the Pilgrimage

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고는 최인훈의 『광장』 에서 이명준의 행동과 사고의 추이가 순례의 과정으로 이어지고 있는 것임을 살펴보고, 이쪽과 저쪽의 기로에 놓인 중간적 존재를 연구하여 『광장』 이 1960년대 최인훈의 시대 인식을 담아내고 있는 구조로 이루어져 있음을 밝힌다. 그 연구 내용은 다음과 같다.
I장에서는 기존의 연구사를 검토하여 긍정과 부정의 평가를 낳았던 최인훈의 『광장』 에 대한 연구 방법을 실명한다.
Ⅱ장에서는 작품 외적인 측면으로 현실의 소설적 형상화를 이루어낸 4.19 문학으로의 『광장』 이 1960년대 자유의 문제에 치우쳤던 문단에서 자유와 평등의 문제를 동시에 드러내어 이전의 문학과는 다른 세계인식을 보여주었다는 것과 현실 응전 도구로써의 '방법적 환상' 즉 관념을 통해 시대로부터 안전망을 확보할 수 있었다는 것을 최인훈이 밝힌 견해에 입각해 검토한다.
Ⅲ장에서는 작품 내적인 측면으로 현실의 소설적 형상화를 이루어낸 『광장』 의 이분된 구조가 순환의 구조로 아우러지는 과정을 살펴본다. 남과 북, 윤애와 은혜, 과거와 현재를 따라 육체적·정신적 이동을 하는 과정을 순례의 길로 보고, 그 길을 순례하는 이명준을 따라 두 개의 혹은 그 이상의 의미의 대립항이 한 방향으로 흐르면서 마침내 母性의 바다에로 귀결됨으로써 유토피아를 지향하고 있음을 검토한다. 또한 그것은 소설의 처음과 마지막이 유사한 장면으로 연결되어 시작이 끝이고 끝이 시작이라는 원적인 시간관에 의거해 전체가 순환 구조로 이루어져 있음을 밝힌다.
Ⅳ장에서는 순례의 길에서 이쪽 세계와 저쪽 세계의 중간적 존재로 위치했던 '이명준'과 '창'과 '배'에 대해 살펴본다. 이것들은 모두 회색지대에 놓인 중간적 존재라는 점에서 회색으로 비유될 수 있으며 당시를 살아야 했던 보편적 인간의 인식 체계를 대변한다.
Ⅴ장에서는 위에서 검토한 내용을 토대로 본고가 이항 대립적 도식화에 그쳤던 기존의 연구 논문과는 달리, 여러 가지 가능성이 유동하던 1960년대 시점과 맞물려 지리적·심리적 순례의 과정을 거쳐야 했던 지식인의 고뇌하는 면모를 정체가 아닌 움직임으로 제시했다는 결론을 도출한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

While This thesis studies that the change in Lee, Myung Jun's act and thought directs to the process of the pilgrimage, 'Open Square' is revealed as a structure of disclosing the contemporary cognition of Choi, In Hun in 1960s by the investigation of interim being stucked between them and us. The following is the contents of the study.
In first chapter, The method of investigating 'Open Square' by Choi In Hun, which brought both affirmative and negative evaluation will be explained by looking into history of existing investigations. The second chapter will review that 'Open Square' as a 4.19 literature which stood on story forming in real world as a term of external text shows another cognition on the world by uncovering both freedom and equality escaped from matter of freedom that literary circles cling to in 1960s and delivers safety zone from the contemporary by methodological illusion as a striking tool against real world in aspect of view of Choi. The third chapter looks into the process of mixing the structure of divided into two-parts on 'Open Square' which story forming in real world as a term of internal text to one of circulation . Followed by the series of coordinate concepts, North and South, Yoon-Ae and Eun-Hye, Past and Present, physical and mental shift is viewed as a passage of the pilgrim characterized as Lee, Myung-Jun, one or more than that coordinate concepts flows into one direction and finally heading for Utopia by getting at Motherly ocean. In addition, the whole structure is construed as a circulative one in which the start and the end is connected with similar scene in aspect of circular time view start is end and viceversa.
In fourth chapter, 'Lee, Myung-Jun' and 'Chang(Window)' and 'Bae(ship)' will be studied who stationed in interim being between here and there in the passage of pilgrim. Those all should be compared as color of grey in that interim being stationed in grey area and be spoken as cognition system of ordinary person who should lives on the earth.
The fifth chapter concludes that the thesis unlike the existing thesis which stalled at binomial confrontation, could present the aspects of suffering intellectuals who should walk in the passage of geographic and mental pilgrim in gear with 1960s of fluctuating possibility into not stagnation but mobile one.
