This study is performed to observe effects of the flow characteristics and discharge energy distributions on combustion in the DOHC SI engine with pentroof combustion chamber.
Variations of flow characteristics is achieved by two cylinder heads, which are reformed intake port angle (20˚, 15˚) and conventional cylinder head(25˚). We also used a high frequency ignition system (HIS) and a capacity discharge ignition system (CDI) with different discharge energy distrubutions to observe the effect of ignition characteristics.
According to the comparison of IMEP, Pmax, COV between experimental conditions, combustion state is relatively stable combustion in the case conventional cylinder head(25˚) and HIS.
