연구산업의 집적도와 기업 활동이 기업 성장에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

연구산업의 집적도와 기업 활동이 기업 성장에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 김혜린 충남대학교 국가정책학과 과학기술정책전공 (지도교수 강태원) 글로벌 첨단기술패권이 심화됨에 따라 산업경쟁력 제고를 위한 첨단원 천기술 확보 및 산업화 등을 위한 연구개발의 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 이에 따라 연구개발 활동의 현업 및 분업을 통해 연구성과 도출 효율성을 높이는 연구산업에 대한 중요성도 함께 증대되고 있다. 정부는 연구산업의 중요성을 인식하고 연구산업 지원 확대를 위한 법 제정, 정책 수립 등을 통해 다양한 지원 활동을 펼치고 있다. 특히, 연구산업은 자생적으로 확 대되는 산업이 아닌 기존 산업과의 네트워킹 및 연계를 통해 성장하는 산 업으로써 연구산업 집적도가 높은 지역을 대상으로 연구산업진흥단지를 지정하여 연구산업 생태계 활성화를 지원하고 있다. 이에 따라 연구장비, 연구개발서비스업, 연구재료, 주문연구 분야를 전 반적으로 어우르고 있는 연구산업에 대한 집적도와 연구산업 성장 및 기업 활동에 대한 영향을 파악하기 위해 2017년~2020년 연구산업 기업 패널 데이터 기반으로 회귀분석을 수행하였다. 연구산업 집적도와 연구산업 기업 성장에 관한 하우스만 검증 결과, P 값이 0.05보다 큰 0.5956으로 나타나 귀무가설을 채택하여 해석할 수 있 으며, 본 회귀분석은 확률효과 모형에 더 적합한 것을 알 수 있었다. 이에 기업 집적도와 기업 활동의 기업 성장영향에 대한 회귀분석을 확률효과모 형으로 연구를 진행하였으며, 연구결과로는 연구산업 집적도가 높은 지역의 연구산업 기업의 혁신 활동, 경영 활동이 활발히 이루어질수록 기업 성장에 높은 영향을 주는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한, 기업의 집적도가 높은 지역 일수록 연구산업 기업은 중기업 대비 소규모 기업에서의 성장에 더 높은 영향을 주는 것으로 확인되었다. 특히, 연구산업 집적도가 높은 지역에서 연구산업 기업의 혁신 활동인 R&D 집중도가 높을수록 기업 성장에 가장 큰 영향을 주는 것으로 확인 되었다. 이를 통해 연구산업 집적도가 높은 지역 대상을 연구산업진흥단 지로 추가 지정하여 R&D 집중도를 높일 수 있는 지역특화산업, 12대 국 가전략기술과 연계함으로써 자체 R&D 활동을 활발히 진행할 수 있는 R &D 중심의 사업 마련함으로써 연구산업 기업 성장이 이루어질 수 있도록 적극 노력할 필요가 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

As global technological hegemony intensifies, the need for research and development to secure advanced core technologies and industrialization to enhance industrial competitiveness is increasing. Accordingly, the importance of the research industry, which enhances the efficiency of research outcomes through fieldwork and division of labor in R&D activities, is also growing. Recognizing the significance of the research industry, the government is expanding support activities through the enactment of laws and the establishment of policies to support the research industry. In particular, the research industry is not an industry that expands autonomously but grows through networking and linkage with existing industries. To support the activation of the research industry ecosystem, the government designates research industry promotion complexes in areas with high research industry concentration.
To understand the impact of research industry concentration and the growth of research industry enterprises, a regression analysis was conducted based on panel data of research industry companies from 2017 to 2020. The Hausman test results for the concentration of the research industry and the growth of research industry companies showed a P-value of 0.5956, which is greater than 0.05, allowing the acceptance of the null hypothesis. This indicates that the random effects model is more appropriate for this regression analysis. Consequently, the study analyzed the impact of enterprise concentration and business activities on enterprise growth using the random effects model. The results confirmed that the more active the innovation and management activities of research industry companies in regions with high research industry concentration, the more significant the impact on enterprise growth. Additionally, it was found that in regions with high enterprise concentration, the growth impact on small enterprises is higher compared to medium-sized enterprises.
Particularly, it was confirmed that the higher the R&D concentration, an innovation activity of research industry companies in regions with high research industry concentration, the greater the impact on enterprise growth. This suggests the need for active efforts to promote the growth of research industry companies by designating additional research industry promotion complexes in regions with high research industry concentration, enhancing R&D concentration through regional specialized industries, and linking with the 12 national strategic technologies to create R&D-centered businesses that can actively conduct their own R&D activities.
