      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

      As we know, Buddhism spread to Korea through China. To be specific, it spread to Goguryeo and Baekje first of all, and then spread to Silla in the mid-fifteenth century, which is defined as Three Kingdoms Period. Not only that, Goryeo Dynasty also take advantage of Buddhism and Confucianism to governance. For example, the King of Goryeo, who named Wang Geon left his last words that Buddhism should be the priority, for Buddha will protect the royal family and the country. By the time of the Joseon Dynasty, Confucianism became the main idea of govern. However, King Sejong adopted a policy of protecting Buddhism in late years. Especially, after Queen Soheon’s ascension, he began to believe in Buddhism and attach importance to compilation of Buddhist texts.
      This paper focused on the Buddhist vocabulary that spread to Korean lexical system by Sino-Korean words, which are included in ‘Seok-bo-sang-jeol’ and ‘Wol-in-cheon-gang-ji-gok’ (cf. prologue, and vol. 1, 2, 7, 9~15, 17~18, 21~22). This research will contribute to explore ancient scholars’ recognition of Buddhist vocabulary, and the Buddhist culture which spread to Joseon Dynasty by Sino-Korean words. Besides, it will also contribute to understand the status and spreading process of Buddhist vocabulary in Korean lexical system.
