This paper aims to investigate the strictness of korean asyntactic compounds through the word recognition, phonological rules reflected in the orthography and the combination pattern of constituents. The strictness means a close relationship among the constituents of compounds and is also the essence of asyntactic compounds. An asyntactic compound's essence is the close combination of practical concepts, that is vocabulary meaning factors with lacking the empty morphemes like connective ending or category changing ending which are necessarily required in formative a syntactic compound. We attempt to reaffirm the status of asyntactic compound formation rule in the compound formation system through the investigation.
