      Chitosan pretreatment was effective to eliminate the difference in dye uptake between soybean and cotton fibers composing blend fabric. In addition, dye uptake was increased with the increase of chitosan concentration and antimicrobial activity was imparted. Fabrics were water-repellent and more air-permeable. These results exhibited that chitosan pretreatment is effective to develop eco-friendly, functional, natural dyed blend fabrics.
