대학생의 역기능적 가족구조와 우울 취약성 간의 관계에서 사회적 지지의 매개효과

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 대학생의 역기능적 가족구조와 우울 취약성 간 관계를 살펴보았다. 더불어 사회적 지지가 이 관계를 매개하는지 알아보고자 하였다. 선행연구들을 기초로 대학생의 가족구조가 역기능적일수록 우울에 취약한 성격을 가지게 되고, 이때 사회적 지지가 두 관계를 매개한다는 가설을 세워 검증하고자 하였다.
이를 위해 먼저 서울에 소재하고 있는 4년제 대학교에 재학 중인 만 19세에서 만 29세 대학생 400명을 대상으로 연구를 수행하였다. 이 중 불성실하게 응답하였거나 정보가 누락된 설문지 130부를 제외하고 총 270명의 응답을 사용하여 분석하였다.
측정도구로 역기능적 가족구조를 알아보기 위하여 가족구조 척도 (Family Structure Survey: FSS), 우울 취약성을 알아보기 위하여 성격양식척도 (Personality Style Inventory-Ⅱ: PSI-Ⅱ), 그리고 지각된 사회적 지지를 알아보기 위해 사회적 지지 척도를 사용하였다. 수집한 자료는 SPSS 22.0 프로그램을 사용하여 기술통계분석, 신뢰도분석, 상관분석, 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다.
연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 상관분석 결과 역기능적 가족구조와 우울 취약성 간에 유의한 정적 상관이 나타났고, 역기능적 가족구조와 사회적 지지 그리고 사회적 지지와 우울 취약성 간에 유의한 부적 상관이 나타났다. 둘째, 역기능적 가족구조에서 성장한 대학생이 우울 취약성을 갖게 되는 경로에서 사회적 지지의 매개효과를 검증한 결과 역기능적 가족구조와 우울 취약성 간 관계에서 사회적 지지가 부분 매개하는 것으로 나타났다.
본 연구의 결과를 통해 대학생이 성장한 가족구조가 역기능적일수록 지각하는 사회적 지지가 낮아지고, 사회적 지지가 낮아질수록 우울취약성을 지닐 가능성이 높아짐을 알 수 있다. 따라서 역기능적 가족구조에서 성장한 대학생에게 효과적으로 개입하기 위해 여러 종류의 사회적 지지를 동반하는 상담을 제공한다면 우울을 예방하는데 효과적일 수 있음을 시사한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is performed to examine the relationship between dysfunctional family structure and depressive vulnerability in college student and the mediation effect of social support. To demonstrate this relationship, surveys were conducted targeting a total 400 college students who study in university at Seoul. Among these answers, 270 data were deliberately considered in the analysis excluding 130 data which contained incomplete and insincere answers.
Instruments used to study the relationship between Family Structure Survey(FSS), Personality Style Inventory-Ⅱ(PSI-), and Social Support Scale. The mediation effect is verified via descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, t-test, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis by using SPSS 22.0. The results of this study are as follows: First, as a result of correlation analysis, there was a positive relationship between dysfunctional family structure and depressive vulnerability, and social support had negative relationships with dysfunctional family structure and depressive vulnerability. Second, it was verified that social support mediated the relationship between dysfunctional family structure and depressive vulnerability. This means dysfunctional family structure influences depressive vulnerability. In other words, it shows that depressive vulnerability gets higher as dysfunctional family structure gets higher while social support gets lower. The results of this study implies that it can be effective to reduce the depressive vulnerability if we prepare social support service for college students in university student counseling center.
