The adaptive filter is a valuable signal processing tool which finds applications in such areas as interference and echo cancellation, channel equalization, linear prediction, and spectral estimation. The time-domain adaptive noise canceller(time-domain ANC) and its algorithms had been introduced that can restore the original signal more accurately especially when the correlatedness between the original signal and the interference signal is small. The frequency-domain approaches in adaptive filtering is well known to have several advantages over the time-domain approaches.
In this paper, the above-proposed time-domain ANC with the adaptive compensator is transformed into frequency-domain ANC with the adaptive compensator. An compensated frequency-domain least mean-squares(CFLMS) algorithm is presnted. The algorithm is based on the "over-lap-save" technique used in frequency-domain filtering. The performance of the algorithm is illustrated by a simullation.
