In order to obtain the relationship between Lactobacillus colony count tests and Snyder tests with D.M.F.S. score. 51 dental students in K.P.N.U. were tested and examined.
Thereafter the data from these tests were analysed and evaluated comparatively. The obtained results were as follows. There was a significant correlation coefficiency between Lactobacillus counts and Snyder tests. (p < 0.05)
The Snyder tests were somewhat superior to Lactobacillus counts.
There was no statistical difference among volumes of saliva samples used in the Snyder test. (p > 0.05)
The Snyder test was positive in 52.9 % and Lactobacillus count was positive in 39.2% of total tested persons.
