<AbsText> A MEETING of the general committee of the National Skating Association was held at the Guildhall, Cambridge, on Thursday, the 10th Inst., under the presidency of Aid. H. Rance, the deputy major, in the unavoidable absence of the president. The general secretary made a report to the committee, from which we extract the following: &quot;Two months have elapsed since the last meeting of the general committee, and they have been very eventful months in the history of the Association. We have enrolled in that period from two hundred and fifty to three hundred new members; and though for a month after the date of the last meeting we were unable to bring off any races by reason of not getting any holding ice the time was fully utilised. </AbsText>
