특별호 ‘기술진보 시대의 스포츠’ = The Special Issue ‘Sport in the Era of Technological Advancement’

국문 초록 (Abstract)

과학 기술의 발전이 스포츠에 큰 영향을 미쳤음에도 불구하고, 스포츠 사회학적 관점으로부터 이 주제에 대한 접근은 상대적으로 미흡했다. 이는 스포츠에서 과학 기술과 관련된 문제들이 주로 자연과학과 공학의 연구영역으로 여겨지며, 사회과학의 일부로 인식되지 않았기 때문일 것이다. 그러나 과학 기술의 발전은 현대사회의 급변 뿐만 아니라 스포츠를 포함한 사회의 다양한 제도에 영향을 미치며 다양한 사회적 이슈를 만들어내고 있다. 이번 특별호에서는 스포츠분야에서 과학 기술의 발전이 우리 사회에 미친 영향을 사회학적으로 심도 있게 탐구하고 분석하였다. ‘기술진보 시대의 스포츠’라는 주제로 일곱 편의 논문이 투고되어 엄격한 심사를 거쳐 게재, 발간되었다. 각각의 논문은 전문체육, 학교체육 그리고 생활체육 등 체육의 다양한 공간은 물론이거니와 VR 기술, 디지털 정보데이터, 인공지능, 뉴미디어, 의과학, e스포츠와 e도핑, 디지털기기 등 다양한 과학기술 분야, 그리고 스포츠에서 그러한 과학기술을 실행하는 다양한 주체와 방식 등에서 모두 다른 모습을 보여주고 있다. 무엇보다도 특별호에 게재된 논문들을 통해 우리 스포츠사회학 분야에 새로운 자극이 되어 스포츠와 기술 발전 그리고 진보의관계에 대한 다양한 접근들이 봇물처럼 등장하는 계기가 되길 바란다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Despite the significant impact of technological advancements on sport, the approach from the sociology of sport has been relatively inadequate. This may stem from the fact that issues related to technology in sport have been predominantly considered within the realms of natural sciences and engineering, rather than as part of the social sciences. However, technological advancements not only influence rapid changes in modern society but also impact various institutions within society, including sport, thereby generating numerous social issues. This special issue thoroughly explores and analyzes the impact of technological advancements in the sports sector from a sociological perspective. Under the special issue’s theme ‘Sports in the Age of Technological Advancement,’ seven papers have been rigorously reviewed and published. Each paper presents a different aspect of how technology can be applied in sports, covering elite sport, school sport, and sport for all, as well as areas such as VR technology, digital data, artificial intelligence, new media, medical science, eSports and e-doping, and digital devices. Above all, the research featured in this special issue will serve as a catalyst for stimulating new discussions within the field of the sociology of sport, fostering a variety of approaches to the relationship between sport and technological advancement and development
