The Legend of Choe chiwon, alias The Fairy Redbelt or The Grave of Two ladies, is about a love affair of Choe Chiwon who was a famous poet of shinla kingdom. The content and form of this novel is influenced directly by Traveling Fairland Cave(You xian ku), the legend novel of zhangQian in Tang Dynasty. These two novels are all about man-ghost love and are written in parallel prose. The manner of writing of The Legend of Choe Ghiwon is characterized by frequent using literary quatations in the form of parallel prose. This paper tries to annotate the literary quatations in The Legend of Choe Chiwon, explore its techniques of using literary quotations, and finally interprete the story of man-ghost love culturally and psychologically.
