일반유아를 중심으로 한 생각의 원리의 개념적 이해 및 발달적 고찰 : Conceptual framework and developmental process of young children with typical development = Theory of mind

국문 초록 (Abstract)

사회적 관계 속에서 자신과 다른 사람의 생각이나 마음을 이해하고 그에 근거하여 다른 사람의 행동과 정서적 반응을 예측하는 능력은 모든 사람들이 지니는 기본적인 심리적 활동이다. 이러한 심리적 활동에 대하여 최근 유아 교육 및 특수교육과 발달 심리 영역 등 여러 관련 영역에서 높은 관심을 기울이고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 생각의 원리의 기본적 개념을 이해하고 발달과정 및 발달적 특성을 고찰함으로써 이론적 기초를 제시하고자 하였다. 그러므로 이 글에서는 생각의 원리의 연구 배경과 기본적인 개념들에 관련한 포괄적 논의를 하였으며, 다음으로는 생각의 원리의 구성요소 및 발달적 특성을 첫째, 물리적 상태와 심리적 상태의 차이 이해, 둘째, 믿음-바램 추론 구조의 이해, 셋째, 틀린 믿음 이해 발달의 세 가지 측면에서 고찰하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Theory of mind is one of the essential abilities that makes us human. By theory of mind, we would be able to infer the full range of mental states that cause action. In other words, we can reflect on the contents of one’s own and other’s minds. Many investigators proposed that rapid development of person-understandings apparent in normal children depends on a specialized mental module for representing mental states. This module enables the child to represent self and other minds.
There has been recent increase in the focus of research on mental development including children’s ability to reason about people, and development of a conceptual framework, desire-belief reasoning framework, and false-belief framework. The purpose of this study was to investigate the basic concepts and the developmental process of ‘theory of mind’. This research shows that mental development emerges rapidly in most normal children. The research on normative development is not only important in its own right, it also provides a framework for evaluating findings and debates about autism.
