The present study investigated the relationship among children`s social intelligence, self-efficacy, and parents` child rearing attitude. Previous researches reported the positive relations between parent`s rearing attitude and children`s cognitive or affective domains such as self-efficacy, social competence, and school achievement. Based on the previous results, the hypothesis of the relation among children`s social intelligence, self-efficacy, and parent`s child rearing attitude was established. The responses of 264 elementary students on the scales of social intelligence, self-efficacy, and perceived parents` attitude were used as data for research problems. The statistical methods for analyzing data were ANOVA, MANOVA, and multiple regression. The results obtained from the study were as following: First, as expected, children`s social intelligence positively related to parents` rearing attitude. Children with permissible parents have higher possibility of achieving appropriate and valid social interaction. Second, the control efficacy, a sub-factor of self-efficacy, was most influential variable in explaining the variance of children`s social intelligence. In conclusion, children`s social intelligence much relates to parent`s rearing attitude and children`s self-efficacy.
