통일 이후 예멘 평화교육의 실태와 변화 가능성 연구 = A Study on the Reality and the Possibility of Change in Peace Education in Yemen after Unification

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 통일 이후 내전 속에서 이루어지고 있는 예멘사회 평화교육의 실태와 변화가능성을 살펴보고자 하는데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 이 연구는 첫째, 평화교육의 성립조건에 대한 이론을 원용하여 분석 틀을 구안하고, 둘째, 예멘 평화교육의 실태를 살펴보았으며, 셋째, 분석 틀을 바탕으로 현재의 예멘에서 평화교육의 긍정적 변화 가능성을 살펴보았다. 무엇보다 예멘의 평화교육을 위한 조건으로서 정치-사회적 영역과 교육적 영역 중 중요한 관건은 내전 행위자들의 평화구축 의지와 지속적 평화협정 체결을 위한 노력이다. 다른 영역의 조건에서 예멘 사회는 어느 정도 평화교육을 위한 성과를 보이고 있지만, 내전을 극복하고 평화협정을 통해 지속적인 평화를 구축하는 것이 무엇보다 선결과제라고 할 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to examine the reality and possibility of change in peace education in Yemen, which has been taking place in the civil war since unification. To this end, this study first devised an analysis framework using the theory of the conditions for establishing peace education. Second, this paper examined the reality of peace education in Yemen. Third, this study examined the possibility of positive changes in peace education in the current Yemen based on the analysis framework. Above all, as a condition for peace education in Yemen, an important key among the political-social and educational areas is the willingness of civil war actors to build peace and efforts to sign continuous peace agreements. In other areas, Yemeni society is showing some achievements for peace education, but overcoming the civil war and establishing continuous peace through peace agreements are the first priority.
