Recently ubiquitous health which can monitor individual health condition always and everywhere is being researched. Ubiquitous health is required a stable and continuous vitar-sign transmission and monitoring. This research is fir studying an efficient routing system to transfer a vital-sign which is measured in sensing node to think node with Zigbee routing protocol.
In this research, HBE-ZigbeX module was used, TempMon and Tree program which are based on TinyOS 1.0, was modified and used. Regarding routing protocol, Flooding, Gossiping, LEACH, Tree were used in this research. Sampling, the number of sensing nodes and routers for each routing protocols observed to has influenced on transmission rate. Continuous operating hour of each routing protocol is measured. Flooding routing protocol, in case of test condition that sensing nodes are 2 and sampling is above 250Hz, ECG waveform was checked a serious distortion. When routers are connected more than 2, ECG waveform wasn't showed normaly because of the packet implosion and bottleneck. In case of Gossiping and LEACH routing protocol, ECG waveform is generated a distortion and transmission rate are decreased to 90% when the sensing nodes are over 2. If sampling is increased, transmission rates are decreased inversly. In case of Gossiping routing protocol, if router is used, transmission rates are under 60% because of the probability packet transmission. In case of LEACH routing protocol, if routers are more than 2, ECG waveform is generated a distortion. In case of tree routing protocol, when the sensing nodes are more than 5, sampling is over 200Hz, ECG waveform is generated a distortion. Continuous running time is checked as followed, Flooding(45 hours), LEACH(45 hours 30 min), Gossiping(46 hours 20 min), Tree(46 hours 40 min). In the test of transmission rate and continuous running time, tree routing protocol is tested best of all.
Flooding routing protocol, even sensing nodes are increasede, transmission rates are not changed clearly, but it made a network problem because of bottleneck or implosion of packet. Gossiping routing protocol, this is upgraded from the problem of flooding such as bottleneck or implosion of packet, but it still has a few problems, such as decreasing transmission rates, distortion of ECG waveform. LEACH routing protocol, ECG waveform is stable during packet transmission, as to time delay of coordinator fixing or node synchronization, transmission rates is decreased. Tree routing protocol, ECG waveform and transmission rates are generated satisfied, but periodic beacon packet which is designed to set is caused decreasing transmission rates. Routing of hierarchical topology and prompt processing for topology change of ad hoc will be possible ubiquitous health system with greater mobility.
