The modes of transportation in large cities have rapidly developed centering around various kinds of transportation systems. However, most passages start and finish with ‘walking’, regardless of the kinds of transportation. It is judged that although traffic environments are easy to assess due to the criteria, which are relatively simple to digitize, such as velocity, density and congestion, it is hard to analyze pedestrian density using mechanical measurements, since pedestrian density analysis is a kind of environmental service assessment.
This study aims to analyze pedestrian density at a specific pedestrian passage, count the number of pedestrians and measure how pedestrian behaviors are distributed, by simplifying this pedestrian density analysis method and suggesting an easier way of analyzing.
