The self-nature is what the essence of original nature is made true through the enlightenment of mind. It can be said that the self-nature, or the reason of mind gathers the laws of original nature as it is in the most compact way. The logic of self-nature does not stick to one's possession and has nothing to preserve as it is not the substance with its own characters and not different from the emptiness of sunyata which is the essence of original nature. Since it has nothing to retain like this, the self-nature spreads outward again according to the theory of causality. The self-nature, or the truth of mind is not far from the reflection of mirror which illuminates all intertwined things by the theory of causality just as it is. The emptiness of mind makes it possible to contemplate truth as it is. Nature and human beings live other-dependent lives that cannot exist alone. However, human beings live intellectual lives, not instinctive ones while living rational lives by selfish possessiveness. Though it looks like the world can be turned to a utopia though rational judgments, it does not go in that manner in reality. Clean light shines by being reflected from dirty dust. One who clings to brightness, even though he or she likes it, becomes blind, not being able to see oneself. The world does not get better by human beings' artificial selections. Instead, if humans are not arrogant and accept all dualities of things, not by being obsessed with the dual values but by transcending them like the essentiality of the nature, the world already and always stays fair and impartial. I started my works based on the self-nature of the nature from the introspection that life is given values by rational decision of human being.
What I pursue is the attitude which follows autogenic appearances of flowers. I have painted flowers and landscapes as a way of recovering lost self-nature. The act of making an artwork itself is artificial. So I put priority on the sincere expression of my sensibilities based on plain and simple descriptions by minimizing consciousness. I tried to seek for the meaning of self-nature in features in patterns and characteristic styles thorough my works. Accordingly, I tried to illustrate self-examining life escaping from the mundane world through my works as an effort to find self-nature. The purpose of this study is to know that the origin of all these exists in the unconditionally-giving nature and to research the essentiality of nature and the life following self-nature.
