To seek for proper forest-floor cultivation methods , Codonopsis lanceolata were cultivated on several growing sites . The growth, photosynthetic rate and chlorophyll content of C. lanceolata were measured and compared between growing sites. Total mean photosynthetic rate increased with increasing the light intensity from 10 to 1,500, but slightly decreased at 2.000 PPFD μmol m^-2s^-1. The number of leaves , vine length and photosynthetic rate of C. lanceolata were significantly different, but chlorophyll contents was not significantly different among the growing sites. The number of leaves was the highest 59.0 at full-sunlight site on campus nursery, followed by P. densiflora sites, L. kaemferi sites, netted sites on campus nursery, Q. mongolica sites. The vine length of leaves was the highest 83.44cm at P. densiflora sites, followed by L. kaemferi site, full-sunlight site on campus nursery, netted sites co campus nursery, Q. mongolica sites. Photosynthetic rate was the highest 13.0μmol CO_2 m^-2s^-1 at full-sunlight site on campus nursery, followed by netted sites on campus nursery, L. kaemferi sites, Q. mongolica site, P. densiflora sites. Proper sites for C. lnceolata cultivation on forest floor might be sunny, less groundcovers, and wet condition.
