Guided by the actor-centered practice theory, the present essay attempts to provide a theoretical framework on the origins and formation processes of complex societies. A theory practice is theory of how human motivation and social relations in society produce and reproduce tradition and culture. It rests on a theory of motivation practiced within particular socio-historical constraints. As human actions, guided by human motivation, attempt to reproduce the status quo, society and history change. The cultural system is seen as imposing some constraints on social actions but is also capable of being changed through constant actions Therefore, social change is he historical process of interplay between human actions, material forces, and the cultural system. Based on this theoretical perspective, it is hoped that the model presented here contributes to the evahuation of changing social organization and its archaeological expressin, and that it expands our knowledge of Korean prehistory.
