박완서 장편소설 『서있는 여자』에 나타난 식욕의 전시성과 재생산 노동

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글은 박완서의 장편소설 『서있는 여자』에 나타난 식욕의 전시성과 재생산 노동을 연구한다. 여성 인물은 전략적으로 미각을 의식하여, 역사적으로 맛을 욕망하고 향유할 식욕의 주체가 아닌, 남성의 식욕을 해소하는 요리라는 노동을 부담할 주체로 살아온 입장에서, 새로운 감각을 마주할 자리와 몫을 추구한다. 고로 소설에 묘사된 음식은 세태적인 소재에 머물지 않고 미시 정치의 가능성을 담보한다. 식욕도 의식주라는 일차원적 욕구의 수준을 넘어서 자아를 욕망하고 실현할 동력으로 거듭난다. 아울러 미식에 맹목적으로 집착하는 허위의식을 생산하는 중산층의 계급성 혹은 가부장제에 대항할 육식을 수행하여, 사적이지만 주요한 일상생활을 형성하는 식습관을 공적 문제로 확장할 정치성을 드러낸다. 더불어 요리 등의 가사노동이 부과되는 부엌이라는 젠더지리학적인 장소에서 여성이 주체적으로 식욕에 응답하기로 각성하고 실천하는 변화의 양상을 살핀다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper studies the exhibition of appetite and reproduction labor shown in Park Wan-seo"s full-length novel Standing Woman. Female characters have historically not been the subjects of appetite to desire and enjoy taste, but have lived as subjects to bear the labor of cooking that relieves men"s appetite. However, from that point of view, they seek a place and share to face new senses by strategically conscious of taste. Therefore, the food depicted in the novel does not remain in a secular subject, but guarantees the possibility of micro-politics. The appetite goes beyond the level of one-dimensional desire of food and is reborn as a driving force to desire and realize the self. In addition, they carry out carnivorous food to counter the false consciousness of the middle class, which is unconditionally obsessed with gourmet, or the patriarchal order dominated by men. As a result, it reveals the politics of expanding the eating habits that form private but major daily life into public problems. In addition, this paper will creatively look at changes in women"s awakening and practicing to respond to appetite independently in a gender geographic place called the kitchen where housework such as cooking is imposed.
