비영리조직의 투명성 수준과 자원동원성과에 미치는 영향에 대한 탐색적 연구 = An exploratory analysis on the nonprofit organizations’transparency and its effect on their fundraising performance

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 한국 비영리조직을 대상으로 투명성의 수준을 탐색하고, 투명 성 수준이 자원동원성과에 영향을 미치는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 2019 기빙코리아의 257개 공익법인의 운영현황에 대한 조사자료 와 국세청 공시자료를 활용하였으며, 투명성은 정보공개수준, 정보공개의 적 극성, 이해관계자와의 상호작용 적극성 및 반응성이라는 네 가지 하위요인 으로 구성하여 측정하였다. 분석결과 한국 비영리조직은 사업성과, 조직운영 및 재정관련 정보의 공개수준은 비교적 높았으나, 이외의 정보공개의 적극 성이나 이해관계자에 대한 반응성은 낮은 수준이었다. 또한 투명성의 하위 요인 중 정보공개의 적극성이 자원동원성과인 총수입에서 기부금이 차지하 는 비율에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 본 연구는 투명성의 포괄적 개념에 대한 이해기반을 확대하였으며, 동시에 비영리조직의 투명성과 자원동원성과간의 관계에 대해 경험적으로 논의함으로써 조직성과를 높이기 위한 투명성 전략 수립의 이론적 기반을 제공하는데 기여하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study intends to explore the transparency of nonprofit organizations in Korea and also to analyze whether transparency influences fundraising outcomes. This study used 2019 Giving Korea survey data from the Beautiful Foundation which include information of 275 nonprofit organizations in Korea. The study results showed that organizational disclosure of financial, managerial and performance informations was quite high, while the level of interactive communication with stakeholders, including potential donors, was relatively low. In addition, this study suggested that active use of information disclosure channels had a significant impact on fundraising performance of nonprofit organizations. Based on the study results, the academic and practical implications for understanding the concept of transparency of nonprofit organizations and enhancing transparency and promoting fundraising performance were suggested.
