지역산업연관모델을 이용한 서울빛초롱축제의 경제적 파급효과 분석

The purpose of this study is to estimate the regional economic impacts of the 2017 Seoul lantern festival using a regional input-output model. To this end an on-site survey was conducted for visitors to the Seoul lantern festival in order to estimate per capita and total expenditures. Tourism multipliers were derived from the regional input-output tables developed by Bank of Korea(2015) in terms of output, income, value-added, indirect tax, and employment. Furthermore, this study considered leakage effect when deriving tourism multipliers based on intra and inter region. The survey results indicate that total expenditures of visitors at the Seoul lantern festival were estimated to be 21.576 billion Korean Won(KRW). Also, the results of regional input-output model indicate that net direct and indirect economic impacts generated from visitors’ expenditures of the Seoul lantern festival were estimated at 26.39 billion KRW of output impact, 5.131 billion KRW of income impact, and 10.47 billion KRW of value-added impact. Visitors’ expenditures of the festival also created 325 jobs. The results of this study not only provide policy implications for the festival operation, but also contribute to improving the accuracy of the economic impact by considering the leakage effect when deriving both tourism multipliers and estimating economic impacts.
