Purpose: This study compared and analyzed the effects of rose and damask rose essential oils on psychological factors (stress, depression, and anxiety) in adults. Methods: Data were collected using keyword searches to identify research on rose and damask rose essential oils for the treatment of psychological factors in adults (anxiety, depression, and stress) published between January 2014 and December 2024. The collected research data were analyzed before and after interventions according to the PICOS format. Results: Rose essential oil displayed the greatest effect size in the order of (0.507) for stress, (0.499) for anxiety and (0.053) for depression and damask rose essential oil exhibited the greatest effect size in the order of (0.603) for stress, (0.565) for anxiety and (0.470) for depression. Conclusion: Both oils could be effective in adults with symptoms of stress and anxiety. However, damask rose essential oil is most desirable for subjects with depression.
