축의 시대 ‘나’의 발견 - ‘신화의 시대’에서 ‘종교의 시대’로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이상세계(理想世界)에 대한 추구는 동서고금을 막론하고 인간의 탄생이후 부단히 이어져온 사상의 흐름일까? ‘나’라는 개념의 구체적 정립은 언제부터 이루어진 것일까? 70억 지구위의 인간 중 똑같은 감성을 정확하게 일치되게 느낀 사람은 아마 없을 것이다. 그것은 ‘나’라는 인식이 한 대상을 받아들일 때, 그 대상을 개인적인 가치판단을 입혀서 감정으로 흡수하기 때문이다.
이 글에서는 구술시대에 형성된 조상의 말들의 기억이 신화로 이루어지고, 그 조상신들의 명령에 의해 움직이는 기계적 인간, ‘나’라는 개념이 없는 공동체로서의 인간상을 살펴본다. 이후 신의 세계에서 신에게 기쁨을 주려고 노력하는 군상이 아닌, 스스로의 행복을 찾고, 가치체계를 정립해 가면서 이상세계를 찾아가는 ‘나’를 발견해 가는 문자시대의 개인을 살펴본다. 또한 그 이상세계가 유토피아 개념을 만들어 종교로서 대체되어 가는 모습도 간략하게 짚어 본다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Is the pursuit of ideal world the stream of thought which is being continued incessantly since the birth of mankind across all the ages and countries of the world? Since when the concrete concept of 'ego' was established? Apparently there may be not anybody who could feel the same sensibilities as others among approximately 7 billion world population. That may be why the concept of 'ego' absorbs an object with an emotion by the medium of individual value judgment when it perceive an object.
In this thesis, I would like to touch not only the human characters who live lacking the concept of 'ego' as a member of community but the mechanical humans who act by the order of their ancestral gods whose sayings in the era of oral tradition were memorized and formed into the type of mythology.
And then I would like to touch individuals trying to find 'ego' in the era of script, who are not members of large people group trying to serve for gods' delight in the world of gods but seek the ideal world, pursue their own happiness and establish their own value system.
Furthermore I would like to touch briefly the process how the ideal world is becoming a religion through a step of forming the concept of utopia.
