      Street has an important role in creating a livable city, in order to create a livable city often associated with walkable streets. A livable street and city must offer a good quality of the pedestrian experience.
      Bogor is a city that represents a mix of cultural setting of local traditional culture, colonial and modernity of the metropolis. Street plays an essential role in forming the unique quality of Bogor City. Bogor City Street is a place where all socio-economic activities happened and as a cultural setting where people are interacting each other or even as a place for people expressing their cultural identity.
      This thesis proposes a design recommendation for the vital streets that lies within Bogor City core. The study conducted at four study streets within the Bogor City Center, those four streets are (1) Sudirman Street; (2) Kapten Muslihat Street; (3) Juanda Street Network (Juanda-Otista-Jalak Harupat); and (3) Surya Kencana Street.
      This research of this study comprises three primary processes:
      1. Literature review through literature research;
      2. Analysis process; exploring the collected data based on site observations and investigation, to reveal the Bogor city context, existing condition and street culture and activity occurred on the four study streets;
      3. Design Process; conceptualizing the design recommendation to improve the streetscape on the four study streets on the basis of analysis and findings.
      The selectable concept formed by exploring thoroughly on the observation on the street level. By observing street level, issues related to safety, comfort, and attractiveness were identified. The identification of problems and potential in the street level lead to the suitable concept that contributes improvement of streetscape for livable Bogor City.
      This study demonstrate the ways of making streetscape as pedestrian streets and the temporary use of street based on existing street culture, particular characteristics, physical features conditions, and limits of the city. It provides some beneficial suggestions for the streetscape design incorporates Global street design standard and Southeast Asian ideas regarding public street as a commercial extension zone.
      For Bogor City, where the climate and landscape context allow more people beilng out in the public street, always associated with socio-economic activity (shopping, eating, street vendor-ing, relaxing, etc). The study reveal how Bogor City streets functioned for multiple uses. While, comfort, safety and attractiveness of the street were the main issues to enhance the walkability.
      The design recommendation aim to create a livable street that reflects Bogor ‘Heritage’ City main streets. The design theme incorporates street walkable street concept, historical and street culture identity and also as a place that contains ecologic values. All of the values are necessary to create a vibrant street life.
      To create a livable city, it requires more than walkability factor. This study limits its focus on the street functioned as a walkable and socio-economic place, and provide the solution through improving the streetscape.
      Despite the limitation, hopefully, this study would be useful for other scholar or those who concerned in reconsidering streetscape improvements for Livability, in particular, Bogor City, Indonesia.
