노인복지기관 종사자들의 노인성(性)에 대한 태도에 영향을 미치는 요인 = Study on the Factors that Influence Elderly Welfare Practitioners' Attitude toward Elderly Sex(性)

This research aimed at comprehending the factors that influence elderly welfare practitioners' attitude toward elderly sex(性). This research investigated elderly welfare practitioners' attitude toward elderly sex, and analyzed the influence of their knowledge about elderly sex, the elderly, and the image of elderly the elderly on their attitude toward elderly sex. This research intended to suggest a practical plan to positively enhance elderly welfare practitioners' awareness on elderly sex to improve the elderly's quality of life.
The research objects were the practitioners who work at the elderly welfare institutions in Gyeongnam-do(elderly welfare service center, long-term home convalescence facilities, elderly convalescence facilities, elderly protection institutions, elderly job specialized institution, etc.). Questionnaire was composed with self-administered way, recovery rate was 87% after distributing total 300 questionnaires, and finally 253 questionnaires were utilized for statistical analysis.
Major results through this research are as follows.
First, the participant practitioners' attitude toward elderly sex appeared more acceptable in case of male than female, lower age group, and elderly use facilities, while negative when the partitioners experienced sexual harrassment on duty.
Second, the factors that influence attitude toward elderly sex appeared age, knowledge about elderly sex and the elderly. That is, lower age group, higher knowledge about elderly sex and the elderly displayed acceptable attitude toward elderly sex.
Therefore, this research investigation result implies that elderly welfare practitioners' positive concept and attitude toward elderly sex are required to improve the elderly's quality of life. However, value view on sex becomes solid as one gets old, accordingly, attitude toward sex can be hardly changed, therefore, constant and repetitive education is required. Therefore, it is necessary to develop specialized education program to improve positive and acceptable attitude and knowledge about elderly sex through education. Also, considering healthy sex culture directly·indirectly influences the elderly's quality of life, this research emphasizes that social interest and support should be enhanced, also, development of policy is required for the elderly's healthy sex culture.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 노인복지기관 종사자들의 노인성(性)에 대한 태도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하고자 한다. 노인복지기관 종사자들의 노인의 성에 대한 태도를 알아보고, 노인의 성에 대한 지식 및 노인에 대한 지식과 노인의 이미지가 노인의 성에 대한 태도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 분석하였다. 이는 노인의 삶의 질 향상을 위한 노인복지종사자들의 노인성에 대한 긍정적 인식제고를 위한 실천방안을 제시하는데 목적이 있다.
본 연구의 조사대상은 경남도내에 위치한 노인복지기관(노인종합복지관, 재가장기 요양기관, 노인요양시설, 노인보호전문기관, 노인일자리전문기관 등)에 근무하는 종사자이다. 설문지는 자기기입(Self - administered)방식으로 구성하였고, 총 300부의 설문지를 배부하여 회수율 87%를 나타냈으며 최종적으로 통계분석에는 253부가 사용되었다.
본 연구를 통해 밝힌 주요 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 본 연구에 참여한 종사자들의 노인의 성에 대한 태도는 여성보다는 남성이, 연령이 낮은 집단일수록, 노인이용시설 일수록 허용적이고, 근무 중 성희롱 경험이 있는 종사자일수록 부정적으로 나타났다.
둘째, 노인의 성에 대한 태도에 영향을 미치는 변인으로는 연령과 노인의 성에 대한 지식 그리고 노인에 대한 지식으로 나타났다. 즉, 연령이 낮은 집단일수록, 노인의 성에 대한 지식과 노인에 대한 지식이 높을수록 노인의 성에 대한 태도가 허용적으로 나타났다.
따라서 본 연구의 조사결과는 노인들의 삶의 질을 향상시키는 데는 노인복지기관 종사자들의 노인의 성에 대한 긍정적인 자세와 태도가 중요하다. 그러나 나이가 들수록 성에 대한 가치관이 굳어져 성태도가 변화되기 어렵기 때문에 지속적이고, 반복적인 교육이 필요하다. 그러므로 교육을 통하여 긍정적이고 허용적인 노인의 성에 대한 태도와 지식을 향상 시킬 수 있는 전문적 교육프로그램을 개발해야 할 것이다. 또한 건전한 성문화가 노인의 삶에 직·간접적 영향을 미친다고 볼 때, 이를 위한 사회적 관심과 지원을 확대하고 노인들의 건전한 성문화를 위한 정책개발에도 힘써야 함을 강조한다.
