한국 스포츠의 전개와 제3섹터의 역할 = Expansion of Sport and the Role of the Third Sector in Korea

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to make known the relationship between sport and the role of the third sector in Korea. For this purpose, this study focused on methodology of social history. In the first part, the study explored the theoretical analysis about the general concept of the third sector and its application into expansion of Korean sport. In the second half, this study pointed out the characteristic of Korean sport organizations belong to the third sector and placed them under the category of three types of autonomous, dependent, and cooperative pattern in respect of relationship into government.

The results of the study were as follows:
First, to aim at balanced development of Korean sport, a proper plan which was helpful to harmonious growth among government, market and the third sector in sport activity should be devised, and for this purpose, legislative, administrative, and financial aid into sport organizations belong to the third sector should be implemented above all.
Secondly, sport organizations in Korean third sector must make constant efforts in improvement of independent spirit and strengthening internal capacity.
