편향성의 동원과 부정적 정치 사이클: 불안, 소셜미디어 이용, 환경감시와 부정적 정치인식 = The Mobilization of Bias and the Negative Political Cycle: Anxiety, Social Media Use, Environmental Monitoring and Negative Political Awareness

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aimed to examine whether negative emotions form a cycle of negative political awareness through social media use and environment monitoring. As a result of this study, it was found that the stronger the anxiety, the more social media was used, and the more social media was used, the more critically activated the information reflection through environmental monitoring. In addition, the use of social media was found to reinforce negative political awareness. Anxiety triggers political environmental monitoring, reinforcing awareness of uncertain and threatening reality, and framing negative political awareness. In the end, anxiety was found to have a negative effect on political perception. This result warns of the danger of falling into the delusion of the elite power, which causes the abandonment of democratic suffrage or claims to be the evangelist of hope. Therefore, there is a need to promote a virtuous cycle of participation by weakening anxiety by training balanced judgment.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 부정적 감정이 소셜미디어 이용과 소셜 환경감시를 통해서 부정적인 정치인식의 사이클을 형성하는지를 살펴보고자 하였다. 본 연구결과 불안이 강할수록 소셜미디어를 많이 이용하며, 소셜미디어를 많이 사용할수록 환경감시를 통한 정보성찰이 비판적으로 활성화되는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 각 변인간의 활성화 과정은 부정적 정치인식을 강화하는 것으로 나타났다. 불안은 정치적인 환경감시를 촉발하여 불확실하고 위협적인 현실을 인식을 강화하여 부정적인 정치인식을 프레임화하는 것으로 나타났다. 결국 불안은 부정적인 정치인식에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 선별적 뉴스 수용 및 뉴스 회피로 심각하게 민주주의 위축시킨다. 이 경우 민주적인 참정권의 포기하거나 희망의 전도사로 자처하는 엘리트 권력자의 미혹에 빠질 위험성이 있다. 따라서 객관적인 증거를 바탕으로 문제 상황을 평가할 수 있는 능력을 증진해야 할 것이다. 근본적으로는 진실하고 공정한 언론생태계를 구축하여 정보 불안감을 줄여 참여의 선순환을 촉진해야 한다.
