다문화 상담 경험과 다문화 상담 역량의 관계: 다문화 태도와 정당한 세상에 대한 일반적인 믿음의 조절된 매개효과 = The Influence of Multicultural Counseling Experience on Multicultural Counseling Competence: The Moderated Mediating Effect of Multicultural Attitudes and Belief in a Just World for Others

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of the study was to explore multicultural counseling experience and education among professional counselors and counselors in training in South Korea, and to examine the effects of multicultural attitudes (MASQUE) and belief in a just world for others (BJW-others) on the relationship between multicultural counseling experiences and multicultural counseling competence (MCC). A total of 201 participants completed a questionnaire probing experience with multicultural counseling and education, MCC, MASQUE, and BJW-others. The results indicated that South Korean counselors had little experience with multicultural counseling, though 60% of respondents had at least one experience with multicultural counseling education. MASQUE partially mediated the relationship between multicultural counseling experience and MCC. Additionally, BJW-others moderated the effect of MASQUE on MCC. Finally, BJW-others had a moderated mediating effect on the path from multicultural counseling experience and MASQUE to MCC. The implications and limitations of the study are discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 한국 상담자의 다문화 상담 및 관련 교육 경험 실태를 파악하고, 다문화 상담 경험이 다문화 상담 역량으로 향하는 경로에서 다문화 태도와 정당한 세상에 대한 일반적인 믿음의 영향을 검증하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 한국 전문 상담자 및 상담 수련생 201명을 대상으로 다문화 상담 경험과 관련 교육 경험, 다문화 상담 역량, 다문화 태도, 정당한 세상에 대한 일반적인 믿음을 측정하는 설문조사를 실시하였고, 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다문화 상담 경험 수준은 전반적으로 낮았고 다문화 상담 교육을 1번이라도 경험한 응답자는 60%에 그쳤다. 둘째, 다문화 상담 경험과 다문화 상담 역량 간 관계에서 다문화 태도가 부분 매개하였다. 셋째, 다문화 태도와 다문화 상담 역량 간 관계를 정당한 세상에 대한 일반적인 믿음이 조절하였다. 넷째, 다문화 상담 경험과 다문화 상담 역량의 관계를 다문화 태도가 매개하고 이 경로를 정당한 세상에 대한 일반적인 믿음이 조절하여 조절된 매개효과가 검증되었다. 이 결과를 바탕으로 상담현장, 교육 및 연구를 위한 본 연구의 시사점과 제언을 논의하였다.
