사례연구 -장편 극영화 ≪식객≫ 블라인드 모니터 시사 결과 분석- = Case Study -Analysis on Blind Monitoring Results of the Feature Film <Le Grand Chef>-

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The feature film ≪Le Grand Chef≫, released on the 1st of November 2007 nationwideover 350 cinemas has gone through a survey consisting of approximately 90 participants showing the director`s primary editorial version on the 8th of August 2007, three months prior to its premier. The staffs analyzed the data obtained by series of questionnairesfrom the participants regarding their view of the film before and after the show. This kind of monitoring work is performed before the audiences view the film during the scenario phase or after editing, the results of the survey is then used to estimate the budget for advertisement, and set directions for editing, recording and marketing.The systemized monitoring work will cover the limitations of internal monitoring work which lacks objectivity. Due to the large sum of capital investments involved in film industry, verification and prediction plays a vital role and the scientific data process of mechanism for a box office hit will allow us to prepare for the fickle audience. However, even the most well designed monitoring system will have its limits. Weighing and grading various parts of the movie will incapacitate creativity and may even cause negative effect on artist`s creative will, which is required to create various novel works. The film monitoring operation has its pros and cons. The full value of the monitoring operation will come to effect when it no longer causes harm to the creative thoughts of the originator and when the originator is able to accept new discovery from the unexpected. This is because movies are products as well as arts.
