초등 지역학습에서 위치지식의 활용 필요성 논의 = A study on the applying location knowledge in primary regional geography

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Regional learning has been included as a core concept of geography education since the beginning of geography education. The purpose of this study is to develop a theoretical discussion that region understanding can be connected with regional insight and geographical thinking by applying location knowledge. And I analyzed the applying location knowledge for learning regions in primary geography education of England, California, Australia and 2015 Revised curriculum. Based on the theoretical discussion and analysis, I suggested the necessary discussions to develop regional learning by using location knowledge as basic knowledge in regional learning of primary geography. First, the regional composition system is implemented by expanding the environment in order of community, region(province), country and world. Second, location knowledge as a basic knowledge of regional understanding should be used. And location should be taught more systematically at school.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

지역학습은 지리학의 태동 이래로 지리교육의 핵심 개념으로 다뤄져 왔다. 본 연구에서는 지역적 통찰력과 지리적 사고력으로 연결될 수 있는 지역이해는 위치에 기반한 자연환경 및 인문환경의 파악과 지역 간 상호작용에 대한 학습으로 가능하다는 이론적 논의를 전개하고, 국내외 초등 지리교육과정에서 위치지식과 지역이해와의 관계를 분석하였다. 이론적 논의와 분석을 토대로 우리나라 초등 지리영역의 지역학습에서 위치지식을기초지식으로 활용하여 지역학습을 전개하는 데 필요한 논의사항을 제안하였다. 첫째, 초등 지역학습은 고장, 지역, 국가, 세계 순으로 환경확대적 접근에 의한 지역 구성 방식을 취하고 있다. 이는 학습자의 인지발달을 고려한 학습자 중심 교육의 실천면에서 긍정적인 효과를 기대할 수 있으나 공간적인 맥락에서 장소나 지역의 위치를살펴보는 데는 한계가 있다. 둘째, 지역이해의 기초지식으로서 위치지식의 활용이다. 위치학습이 더 체계적으로이루어져 위치지식을 갖추게 해야 한다.
