In this paper, we focus on an efficient channel-diversity routing metric in multi-channel multi-rate wireless mesh networks. In order to describe the relation between intra-flow interference and node location, we measure intra-flow interference due to the order of assigned channels on a path. We assume that each node is capable of recognizing locations of neighboring nodes. We propose routing metric that captures channel-diversity level more accurate than WCETT metric. As WCETT metric don’t accurately estimated channel-diversity level that considers co-channel links on a path, the proposed metric calculates channel-diversity level that considers co-channel links within interference range. The proposed metric provides opportunities of simultaneously transmitting packets more than WCETT. In the simulation result, we show that our proposed metric can achieve intra-flow interference less than WCETT metric.
